Our HR Department still uses it 9 years later and our disk is missing. We have our database, but no program to access it. Please help! This may be a silly question, but have you reached out to ADP for help? They have numerous contact points on their homepage including a phone number and online chat Contacting ADP was a colossal pain. I was never able to locate disks, but being in the same boat as you, I couldn\’t keep it on the old hardware. My server was a win2k server which I couldn\’t virtualize, so I took my chances and upgraded the server to Luckily everything still worked after upgrading to I can\’t upgrade any further because ADP 5.

I keep it powered off and only power it on when HR requests, and use a snapshot to revert it back after each time they access it. I have versions 5. I too have run into the issues of the OS no longer being supported but we have to keep the data alive and accessible for historical and legal reasons.

I set up an RDP server with terminal licenses for users to access the client that way. Then I could upgrade users workstations and not worry about the hassle of installing it on a newer OS.

We even looked at Citrix to run the application but decided on the more affordable option since the payroll system was older, and we had moved onto another platform.

Now the hard part is keeping the old hardware alive that supports an outdated application on a server running For those that can use PCPW v 6. There are so many disks and patches with that version! To access and use the payroll application, your internet browser needs to be set to run JavaScript and accept cookies. If you are using Internet Explorer 6.

If you are using another browser version, access your browser Help for update instructions. Click Internet Options. Select the Security tab. Click Custom Level. Scroll down the list until you locate the Scripting topic. Under Scripting, locate Active Scripting. Click to select Enable under Active Scripting. Click OK and agree to accept the security changes.

To set your browser to accept cookies: Click Tools on the Menu Bar located at the top of your browser. Select the Privacy tab. Your default settings need to be set to Medium to accept cookies required by the payroll application. To change your settings, move the slide up or down until you reach Medium, and then click OK.
