When I tried to watch the video it asked me which video watching app did I want to use. One app didn\’t want to work and the other app wouldn\’t play audio. I never had the chance to find out if it was a video apps or the airstream app because the airstream app kept freezing up on me.

When I would tap on the back arrow off to the side on my Kindle fire nothing would happen it took several taps on the home button for the app finally somewhat closed and let me go back to the home screen on my Kindle. When I re-opened the airstream app it took me back to my video viewer. I would then have to go into settings and force stop the app so that I can go back to the airstream app homepage.

I did this several times before deleting app. I might keep an eye on this one. Some of you are giving this app low marks because the videos don\’t play. In my case, for example, when I first tried to play an mkv file I got the message \”audio format not supported\”, and it only showed up after I clicked \”Cancel\” after I gave up.

This has nothing to do with this app Download VLC Media player and you will be fine. I\’m sure there are other players that can handle all the current file formats, but VLC is open source and consistently works on every computer and device I have installed it on.

Plus, it has all the codecs you need included in it so that\’s nice too. VLC also has it\’s own streaming app that can replace AirStream, but I don\’t think it works nearly as well.

The application has tried to execute an \”update\” and it repeatedly locks up the device. Constantly loses the \”back arrow\” from the current song being played. Have to end up rebooting the device to reset the application. When it works it is an awesome idea but the bugs keep it from being a higher rated application.

One person found this helpful. Works great. Almost no setup needed, seriously. Just install on computer and device and it\’ll go reight over the wifi. Not sure you need to even set up sharing since it ignores the rules I\’ve set, allowing me to even browse my C drive. That does make for some security concerns but the perpetrator would need access to your wifi in the 1st place and know you have this particular program running. File exploring and playback for videos is on par with any explorer like ES explorer but for music it has its own \”play by folder\” controls so it\’s great if you have a well organized music collection artist, albums, then songs.

One of my most used apps. Really useless and nothing compare to Air Playit or Air Video where you dont have convert or download heavy files. It automatically syncs your computers files and folders to your tablet device which is very useful. For example, you instantly start watching movies, TV shows and other video files from your computer. At first, it sometimes worked but would crash often.

Then, this morning, it started refusing to connect. I logged out on my PC and logged back in again, and the same thing continues to. I powered my tablet off and back on and tried again, and it still does the exact same thing. That\’s it. I\’m not wasting any more time with this piece of crap. See all reviews. Dear AirStreamers, We want to take this space now and let you know that we are deeply sorry for the several outages that happened last month. It was a mistake from our side. We had very high expectations, we were working on it for little over 2 months: we almost halved the app size, redid the user interface bringing our prominent features upfront and even made the app sturdy. For a week or so since our launch we received awesome feedback and gave us the confidence that we hit the right spot.

But then something happened, our servers crashed. Later we realized our database was not returning the queries due to excessive calls. We had a piece of code which monitored the status of computers, which made it easy for you to access your computer outside of your wifi network.

The mistake was ours as we failed to optimize the server for this kind of interaction. We always wanted to build server independent systems, we used servers only to connect the devices.

After days of work finally we were able to solve it. We redid the entire server architecture, and separated out the part which consumed most CPU and Database interactions. You communicated at every instance Thank you for being on the emails, skype and phone all the time. Thank you for sending screenshots after screenshots helping us analyze the problem in detail.

We are so lucky to have you folks on our platform. We have not been able to reach to some of you owing to busy schedule last month, and we are sorry. Hopefully we will reach out to all of you soon. And your this love is what we keep working for. We always wanted to build products that makes life more fun. Your support shows that we are on the right track.
